Everyone has a memory of sailing where everything went perfect or just horribly wrong. We would like to hear from you if you have a lesson to teach or just would like to share the moment.
My best memory was when I first plained on an RS fiva. The helmsman turned downwind and instructed me to pull out the spiny. I had never done this but I got it out in a few second flat. With a quick tug on the spiny-sheet, the yelllow sail billowed out majestically. The bow of the boat rose out of the water and the spray lashed out in a directions. From what seemed inside the boat came a tremble and the boat started a beautiful low-pitched hum. I'll never forget it.

I bought 40 foot Nova Scotia seine boat (converted into low freeboard sailing ketch) to prepare for sail through Straits of Magellin. This was about three wives ago.
How does she sail?
